Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu tweeted he was racially abused by fans of his own club after their embarrassing 4-1 loss to Romanian club Unirea Urziceni in the most recent round of Champions League play. Edu, who is African American, didn’t even play during the game.

Edu wrote on his twitter page, “Not sure what hurt more: result last nite or being racially abused by couple of r own fans as I’m getting in my car.”

Official Rangers organizations have spoken out against the racism.
