Following a disastrous World Cup campaign, the entire French 23 man squad selected for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa has been suspended for their upcoming friendly vs. Norway.

The French experience at the recent tournament was marred by strife between the players and management, culminating in an organized protest by the players, who refused to show up for training in the days leading up to their crash from the knockout round.

The request to suspend the players came from new manager Laurent Blanc, who replaced Raymond Domenech. Because of the punishment the World Cup squad will not have an opportunity to play together again until the opening game of the Euro 2010 qualifying bid vs. Belarus on September 3rd.
