Caretaker boss Ricky Sbragia has admitted that El Hadji Diouf could leave Sunderland in the January transfer window.
The former Liverpool and Bolton Wanderers forward has endured a disappointing first half to the season since moving to the Stadium of Light in the summer.
Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce has been linked with a move for the Senegal international, who has failed to find the net so far this term.
Sbragia said: “If he is wanted by Big Sam at Blackburn, or if he wants to go, there’s not much I can do about it.
“But if that was the case, we would sit down and look at it and see if it was right for us and see if the fee was acceptable.”
