33 year old Roma captain Francesco Totti has undergone knee surgery to correct an injury in his right knee picked up during training. Totti has already missed two league games and a Europe match; now it’s unknown when he will be fit to play again. Rumors abound that a former Roma physician believes he will be out at least 20 days.
Roma stated that his rehabilitation will begin this week, but cannot give any estimation of timeframe for his recovery. The official statement on the club’s web site reads, “The player will be discharged tonight and will begin tomorrow rehabilitation. A return date will be determined depending on the player’s condition.”
